What accommodations does Amazon offer for people with disabilities during the application and hiring process?
At Amazon, we're committed to an inclusive culture where everyone can participate fully and equally — in the hiring process and on the job. We offer accommodations at every step of the way, and we warmly encourage anyone with a disability to apply. Requesting an accommodation is a simple process:
- If you’d like to request an accommodation, please reach out to our Applicant Candidate Accommodation Team (ACAT) by sending an email to dls-latam-acat@amazon.com.
- An accommodation consultant will inquire about your accommodation needs
- An Amazon representative will work with you to identify and recommend suitable accommodation that meets your needs
- An Amazon representative will also follow up to make sure the accommodation is working for you
What is the PwD quota requirement and how does it affect me as a candidate?
Law No. 8,213/91 is a Brazilian federal law that requires companies with 100 or more employees to reserve a percentage of their workforce for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), on a graduated scale ranging from 2% to 5%. Amazon, as a company with more than 1,000 employees, is required to ensure at least 5% of its workforce at eligible sites is composed of PwD. This means Amazon actively recruits and supports PwD candidates at eligible sites.
What rights do I have if I have a disability?
Under Law No. 8,213/91 and the Statute of Persons with Disabilities (Law No. 13,146/2015), you have the right to:
- Apply to the same job requisitions as all other candidates – you are not limited to separate role;
- Receive the same evaluation and hiring process as general population candidates;
- Access benefits and accommodations tailored to your needs;
- Request workplace accommodations through Amazon's Disability & Leave Services (DLS) team at any stage – this should not adversely affect your hiring process.
